Århus-konference om hjerneskader

Fra torsdag til søndag er Århus vært for en konference, hvor læger og sygeplejersker fra hele Norden udveksler viden om neurokirurgi.
Det er Skandinavisk Neurokirurgisk Selskab, der er vært for konferencen, som holdes 27.-30. maj i Scandinavian Congress Center i Århus.
Konferencens tema er hjerneskader, og hvad der sker fra indlæggelse til hverdag eller organdonation. Den slags kræver førerbeslutninger af alle involverede læger, sygeplejersker og pårørende.
Som opvarmning til konferencen har forskningssamarbejdet NeuroCampus Aarhus inviteret deltagerne til et dagsseminar om Deep Brain Stimulation, som bruges til at behandle Parkinsons.
Forsøg har vist, at stimuleringen også kan bruges på patienter med svære depressioner, epilepsi og sågar fedme.
